Earth Core and BWGTBLD present Axolotl, an exhibition by Francisco Cantón (Pantera) in Sóller, Mallorca. Developed over seven years, Axolotl brings together photographs made across different places, bodies, landscapes, objects and moments.
The title refers to an animal that never completes its metamorphosis, remaining in a state of transition throughout its life. For Cantón, this condition becomes a way of thinking about images, identity and time, about what it means to remain unfinished.
For its presentation in Mallorca, a selection of works from Axolotl moves from the publication into the gallery, including copper plate photogravures and photographic works.
The exhibition opens at Earth Core Gallery on Friday, 18 September, from 6PM and will remain on view for one month.
Axolotl is published by Art Paper Editions and designed by Jurgen Maelfeyt.
